Hand forged up in the mountains of Yamagata from YCS carbon steel, a great steel made by Hitachi that holds its edge well, sharpens up nicely, and is tough enough for the daily rigours of pruning.

Yamakawa san started working for his father the day after he graduated from high school, and has been making secateurs ever since. His Yamagata factory is home to five stray cats, each fed on fresh sashimi!
