Niwaki GR 270 Pruning Saw
$69.00 exVAT
Great little garden saw for your back pocket.
Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke, not the push, giving you much more control than you get with western-style saws. The blades are thinner too, meaning you get a thinner kerf (the cut in the wood) with less effort. Can’t be bad. Handy little saw to have in your double holster, for emergency pruning when your secateurs won’t do, and you don’t have loppers handy.
Not recommended for more ambitious jobs over Ø30mm - you need the Niwaki GR 210 or GR 270 saws for that (max cuts Ø70 & 90mm respectively).
Go easy - folding saws are not as robust as their fixed-blade siblings (e.g. Niwaki GR 270)

Japanese Pruning Saws are great. They cut on the pull stroke, not the push, which means the blade is under less pressure when cutting, and uses less energy, resulting in a far cleaner, faster cut. They whizz through green wood, but the blades are more fragile than traditional western saws and incorrect use can result in damage.
