Product description
We’ve assembled the perfect gift set for the gardener in your life, featuring six Niwaki tools and accessories.
We thought long and hard about the selection, balancing long-term usefulness while trying to include tools that not everyone would be likely already to have in their shed.
Take the Herbaceous Sickle, for example: you won’t find many similar tools in your local garden centre, but it’s ideal for ripping and cutting through tough weeds and grasses.
The Niwaki Arm Covers provide another layer of protection when you’re getting busy with weeding or pruning while the gloves offer a great balance of comfort, protection and ‘feel’. Please choose the correct size when ordering - see below for a size guide.
Higurashi Garden Scissors are beloved by florists and pruners alike (top tip: operate them with your index finger on the outside of the handle, close to where it meets the blade). Store and carry them in the Niwaki Tool Roll and keep a note of all your planting plans in the Shikisen (a Japanese paper proportion) Notebook.
The six items arrive boxed (pictured) and packed with tissue paper, so all you need to do is write the tag (provided) and slip the parcel under the tree.
Best usage
Choosing the right size glove: measure across the middle of your hand (at the metacarpophalangeal joints, obviously) in cm to find your size.
7cm = Size 7 / Small
8cm = Size 8 / Medium
9cm = Size 9 / Large
10cm = Size 10 / X-Large
Can’t measure the recipient’s hands? If you go by shoe size you won’t be far off, ie UK9 = Size 9 / Large. If you’re ordering from the US, remember a UK9 is a US10.
We recommend moving up a size if you’re caught in the middle, although some people prefer a tighter fit. Be aware they are stretchy so it’s not a critical science!
