Dai Sugi in Dorset
You’ll know by now that I’m a big fan of Dai Sugi - Cryptomeria japonica pruned the Kyoto way. I’ve been working on a few at home, and they’re finally starting to do their thing in our garden in Shaftesbury. In front are some box waves, kindly donated as bits of an old parterre hedge, that have just had their first ever clip (hence the bare patches - no, they’re not blight, or dog pee). It’s all coming on nicely, just ignore the Leylandii hedge behind.
